Touch Magix transforming their gaming model that leaves a long lasting and unforgettable experience for consumers in the communication world. A lot of technology at Touch Magix is being utilized in the fun, gaming space and in the customer engagement.
Customer Expectations
As per Touch Magix research, to collect data of total tickets dispense and RFID card swipe counts from various machines is a tedious task.
And at the same time, they have to collect data from all the gaming machines where they are located.
Therefore, to overcome these concerns they come up with an idea to provide them a module with central IoT gateway which centrally stores whole data of all machines, which is able to count total ticket count as well as swipe count without losing any data in case of connectivity loss.
The Challenges
TouchMagix wished to have an IoT Enabled solution that will give total count in one single gateway. There were several critical aspects that the implementation needed to address.
- Without disturbing existing structure to build a system which enables sensing of data instead of communication protocol.
- As Coin and RFID triggering levels are different it was difficult to maintain both at the same level.
- In case of loss of connectivity the data should not be missed.
- While doing other tasks if any person swipe a card then that event/pulse should not missed as this event can be triggered at any time while performing multiple tasks at a time.
Solution Overview
Based on these requirements, hIOTron suggested them IoT enabled solution architecture as given below:
Solution Development: Designed and built a Touch Magix module which provides total data of ticket count and swipe count in one central IoT gateway. The data is sensed by the sensors and will be stored in IoT platform. After a particular preset heartbeat interval it will connect to the Wi-Fi or GSM and the pending data will be fetched by the server. Local data storage facility is provided to keep the records in case of connectivity loss.
The module performs multiple tasks such as
- Count total card swips.
- It will dispense tickets automatically and count total ticket counts.
- Store real time data locally in case of connectivity loss.
- Store total data in one central gateway.
Hardware: On module, ticket dispenser with ticket counter has been kept which automatically dispense ticket and calculate total count. On the other side RFID card swap counter has been also kept which calculates total count of card swips.
Software: The user interface of App is designed by considering all such parameters in mind.
